Challenging Day!

OK, so not in the way non-stampers might think! (Although my 4 year old did give me a few challenges today!) I actually spent some time with my stamps today rather than doing my household/motherly duties.

My first card was for the Color Challenge at SCS today. I had gotten Love Ya Bunches on Ebay a while back, but had yet to ink it. The color challenge was exactly that for me today. I loved the Kiwi Kiss and Bravo Burgundy, but I had a hard time adding in the Regal Rose. I finally ended up getting something I liked. I also used my new Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug Folder!

My second card incorporated both the Color Challenge and Verve's Mojo Monday challenge. I made a 3 1/2 x 5 card for the Verve challenge. I thought the dimensions of the stamp would better match the smaller card size.

Have a beautiful day - and create something! Stacy

Mojo68 Unity card

Right after Christmas Unity had a great sale and I placed my first order with them. My order arrived last week, but there was no time to play with all the fun birthday activities we had going on. Today, I committed that I would make a card with my new stamps. The stamps are much larger than I was visualizing and I had a hard time coming up with something to do with them. I ended up liking what I came up with for this first inking!

I've never tied a double ribbon before, but I like the way this turned out. I did use a few small glue dots to hold the ribbons together once they were tied, otherwise, the Pretty in Pink wanted to go all askew on me!

Have a great day & I hope to get another posting before next weekend!

Tween card project

Here's the card I came up with last night for the 16 girls coming to my daughter's birthday party. I wanted to keep it fairly simple, yet fun for the girls. I thought this would be great as they could use it as a birthday card or a Valentine's card.

My daughter had asked me if they could make a card at her party earlier this week and I really wasn't sure if I would be able to pull it all together with everything else going on. But, after she went to bed last night, I got busy and came up with this card. I wrote inside it birthday wishes to her and placed it by her alarm clock so she would see it when she woke up. She was thrilled! I'm hoping to come up with another card or a gift bag or something today, but we'll see. The hours are going by quickly...especially when I'm sitting here on my blog! Important things first, right?!? Really, what else do you do while you wait for the brownies to bake? Certainly not clean!

Enjoy the day! Stacy

Punches Three Baby Girl Cards

Here are two of three baby girl cards I made yesterday with the Hostess Set - Punches Three. These were really quick and easy with my Cuttlebug. The third card is very close to the second, so I didn't post it.
I love how the buttons turned out with the scallops on the first card. If I do this again, I will cut the scallops first and then score and fold the card as the front ends up quite a bit shorter than the back if you don't. The first card also uses the shimmery white cardstock from SU!
The second card is pretty self explanatory. I think I'll be making some more of these to have on hand. I probably make some in blue and some in neutral colors.

Mojo 55 Inspired by Nature

I've been so anxious to give this set a try and finally got to it tonight. I haven't played Julee's Mojo Monday at http://www.poeticartistry.blogspot.com/ for quite a while, so I decided to give it a go today with my new Inspired by Nature set.

I've been accumulating the Watercolor Wonder Crayons over the last few months, but I haven't been using them. This stamp set is perfect for coloring right on the stamp and then misting and stamping. I love the way the image turned out. I know I'll be using this technique with this set again....maybe even for the card trade I'm in next month.

Paper: Chocolate Chip, True Thyme, More Mustard and Whisper White

Ink: Chocolate chip and More Mustard on the tag only; True Thyme (barely seen on the 2nd layer)

Accesories: Watercolor Wonder Crayons (More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Chocolate chip and a little bit of Really Rust just around the edges of the flowers), Jumbo Eyelets, water mister

I made a few other cards today also, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to upload them. They are all Cuttlebugged, so it is better to photograph in daylight to get the dimension of the embossing to show up.

Blessings - Stacy

Birthday Card for 2 year old

Today's card if for my nephew James' 2nd birthday. Wow, how times flies! I decided to give SCS's sketch challenge this week a try as it looked very appealing and easy to use up some DP I had sitting here. I also pulled out my first pieces of the new In Colors! The stamp set used is by Inque Boutique which I had never used before.

We're looking forward to another beautiful day here in South Dakota. I probably should go outside and do something, but my new stamps have been calling my name for the last few days! We'll see how things go. For now we just need to focus on getting homework done and things in order for school tomorrow.

Blessings! Stacy
