Happy Harmony Thanks

Today's card was for the FS81 at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge was to case something from this gallery Kokirose. What a beautiful gallery of things to case. I also wanted to try and fit in the Limited Supplies Challenge from this Friday - Oldies But Goodies. I found this card Kokirose Case that Kokirose posted back in February. I immediately fell in love with it and knew that I wanted to case it. It uses Happy Harmony with is a set I have had for quite a while and I have only used the sentiment from the set, so I thought that would qualify as an "Oldie but Goodie". The paper is also my Glossy White which I haven't used in quite a while. Unfortunately, River Rock will soon be disappearing from my stash and will turn into an "Oldie But Goodie".

I started by taking a piece of glossy white cardstock and wiped it down with the Embossing Buddy and randomly stamped the floral image from Happy Harmony all over with Versamark, then applied clear embossing powder and heat set it. I used my brayer to apply Elegant Eggplant ink all over the paper going over it several times and moving in different directions. I let this set a bit to dry and then wiped it with a tissue to make sure any excess ink was off before I proceeded.

From here, I cut my square panel and the smaller rectangular panel. I mounted the two pieces on some River Rock cardstock and pierced around the edges. I "stitched" (connected the dots) with a white gel pen on the smaller piece. Then I moved on to the main image which I simply stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Sahara Sand paper. Cut with Scalloped Nestability, then sponged the edges, mounted on a larged scalloped oval which was also sponged. Added the pierced dots and the gel pen dots. I adhered everything with brads and tape, adding the ribbon and the hodgepodge hardware. A fun, relatively simple card with a bit of sheen because of the glossy cardstock. I hope you like it. I'ppy to have a beautiful thank you card for the next time I need one.
Happy Sunday to everyone!

Cocktails Anyone?

Grrrrr....I just had this all typed up real nice and then I hit something that deleted it all, so here I go again!

This morning I challenged myself to use some of the things I have been accumulating over the summer. I love a lot of the weathered looking papers; however, when I go to use them, they don't seem to match up with the stamps I have. Well, today I think I found a combination that works. I think I'll use this as a birthday card once I find an appropriate, witty sentiment!

Here are the products I have been collecting and finally broke open for this project:

  • Cocktails? stamp from Inkadinkado

  • Cosmo Cricket paper - Gretel: Gingerbread

  • Itty Bitty Backgrounds - I have this for YEARS and NEVER used it!

  • Petal Pushers in Yellow and Brown by Bazzill- These are the flowers.

  • Fab Brads in Honeycomb by Bazzill

  • Rain Dots in copper by Cloud 9 Design

  • Tim Holtz Distressing Powder in Old Paper (used with IBB to create sand look the roosters are standing on)

  • WWC - I had been borrowing these and using them constantly. Finally I returned them and have been buying 1 color group each month. Well, since I have bought them, I haven't even opened the packages.

  • Zots 3-D - I had seen a friend use these with some flowers and HAD to have them. I got them 6 months ago and hadn't used them yet!

Other products:

  • Inks: Creamy Caramel, Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip (also used to distress edges)

  • SU Distressing tool

  • Really Rust and Very Vanilla Paper
