Flocking Fun!

Paper Craft Planet's Back to Basic's lesson this week (#6) is on Fuzzy Flock! Something I always thought was too mess to play with, but after seeing the tutorial it didn't look so bad. Plus, with a chance to win some prizes I had to play. So, I went to Michael's and picked up some of the Fuzzy Flock. Of course, I couldn't just pick up one container, I had to get two different sets of colors! Both cards today are using the Oh So Majestic set. I also have the Saltwater Taffy colors and hope to try those soon. I'm thinking I can make some fun cards for tween girls with the saltwater taffy colors!

On to the cards I made...The first one is using the Bundle of Joy set. I thought the flocking would be perfect for the giraffe's spots. I also used SCS's Color Challenge today CC240 and an old Sketch Challenge SC242.
The second card uses an old set (2000) Spooktacular Greetings. I thought the black cat would be perfect in black flocking. As I was playing I thought I would also add the flocking to the witch's hair. She needed some drama! I found an old scrap of paper that had some great colors for Halloween and used that as my color palette. The other papers are black, Apricot Appeal and Kiwi Kiss. The ribbon is the striped Kiwi Kiss with a piece of black grogain over it.
I can't wait to try the Saltwater Taffy colors. We'll see what later tonight or tomorrow brings. So glad to be back in the swing of creating! Maybe one of these days I'll actually figure out how to make my blog more attractive!

Again, WOW, I just don't seem to get this blog updated. BUT, I have been making some cards that I will post tonight.

Both of these cards use the Rainbow Sherbet paper pack which I JUST opened and have had for several months. I should make it a goal some month to use up a whole pack of DP! That would be fun....but then, I might miss the paper!

Here are two more cards using Le Jardin Botanique. The first one I made as a sample for a Women's Retreat I am going to in a few weeks. The second one I had made for a sketch challenge hosted by my SU! Demo 2 months ago. I just hadn't loaded it as she has a contest each month and the card with the most votes receives a prize.
Thanks for stopping in today!

Unity Hip Hop Challenges

WOW! It has been WAY too long since I posted. I've been making a few cards, but frustrated with the upload process. BUT, today, things are going to change....even if just for today! Here is a card I made using some Unity stamps I've been collecting.
The first challenge was to use a black and white background. The second challenge was to not use any squares on the card....thus, I stuck to circles and ovals! Now, I probably have plenty of papers that would have worked as a background, but I chose to create a background from the circles stamp in my "The Good Times" stamp set from Unity. I stamped this onto black paper using Whisper White Craft ink. Then I stamped the verse on white with black ink. I cut and embossed with the oval scallop Nestabilites. Then I decided to add the CB With Love embossing border with the dots to the white card base. I found this cheap ribbon in a stash that worked nicely with the image and background. To add a little sparkle, I used a glitter pen on selected areas of the background and around the embossing on the verse image. This should be a nice general purpose card to send sometime.

To the Nines Friends 24-7

Unbelievable! It has been 2 months since my last post! I guess I just haven't had the mojo lately, but today I was determined that I would make a card. I took advantage of Sale-a-bration and have lots of new things to play with. Today I really wanted to use my new To the Nines Specialty paper. It was really difficult to cut into the beautiful paper, but I just had to do it. I love the bird from Friends 24-7 and it seemed to be a good fit. Here's what I came up with.

Supplies - Paper: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, To the Nines Specialty; Ink: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze (should have been Sage Shadow), Versamark; Accessories: Chocolate Chip Corduroy Brad, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Linen Thread, Clear EP, paper mask (for bird).

Sparkly Valentine

Here's a fun card I made today with lots of bling. I left it without a sentiment so it can be used for a Valentine or other special occassion. It was the first time pulling my Chunky Sprinkles out. They were fun! I still have sprinkles all over my desk though!

Recipe:

Stamp heart from Love You Much in Riding Hood Red on Very Vanilla paper. Cut out; adhere to Riding Hood Red paper and cut about 1/8" larger. Adhere this to Pink Pirouette paper and cut just a bit bigger. Place rhinestones on heart where dots are. Cut scallop from Pink Pirouette. Cut 1 1/4" circle from Going Gray and adhere to scallop. Stamp set of 3 hearts on Very Vanilla, punch out. Punch out Heart To Heart with Pink Pirouette. Adhere rhinestones to scallop. Adhere small heard to scallop.

Place sticky double sided tape to 1" strip of Riding Hood Red paper. Pour on Chunky Sprinkles, pressing slightly to help adhere. Mount strip onto Pink Pirouette. Mount Candy Lane DP to Going Gray card base. Adhere glitter strip. Adhere large heart with dimensionals. Adhere scallop with dimensionals.

Thanks for looking.

Challenging Day!

OK, so not in the way non-stampers might think! (Although my 4 year old did give me a few challenges today!) I actually spent some time with my stamps today rather than doing my household/motherly duties.

My first card was for the Color Challenge at SCS today. I had gotten Love Ya Bunches on Ebay a while back, but had yet to ink it. The color challenge was exactly that for me today. I loved the Kiwi Kiss and Bravo Burgundy, but I had a hard time adding in the Regal Rose. I finally ended up getting something I liked. I also used my new Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug Folder!

My second card incorporated both the Color Challenge and Verve's Mojo Monday challenge. I made a 3 1/2 x 5 card for the Verve challenge. I thought the dimensions of the stamp would better match the smaller card size.

Have a beautiful day - and create something! Stacy

Mojo68 Unity card

Right after Christmas Unity had a great sale and I placed my first order with them. My order arrived last week, but there was no time to play with all the fun birthday activities we had going on. Today, I committed that I would make a card with my new stamps. The stamps are much larger than I was visualizing and I had a hard time coming up with something to do with them. I ended up liking what I came up with for this first inking!

I've never tied a double ribbon before, but I like the way this turned out. I did use a few small glue dots to hold the ribbons together once they were tied, otherwise, the Pretty in Pink wanted to go all askew on me!

Have a great day & I hope to get another posting before next weekend!

Tween card project

Here's the card I came up with last night for the 16 girls coming to my daughter's birthday party. I wanted to keep it fairly simple, yet fun for the girls. I thought this would be great as they could use it as a birthday card or a Valentine's card.

My daughter had asked me if they could make a card at her party earlier this week and I really wasn't sure if I would be able to pull it all together with everything else going on. But, after she went to bed last night, I got busy and came up with this card. I wrote inside it birthday wishes to her and placed it by her alarm clock so she would see it when she woke up. She was thrilled! I'm hoping to come up with another card or a gift bag or something today, but we'll see. The hours are going by quickly...especially when I'm sitting here on my blog! Important things first, right?!? Really, what else do you do while you wait for the brownies to bake? Certainly not clean!

Enjoy the day! Stacy
